Original Vintage: Silk Handkerchief Depicting the Royal Family of King George V1 
 
A soft crepe ivory printed silk square each corner has an image of each member of the Royal Family in royal blue King George V1, Queen Elizabeth, and the young Princesses Elizabeth, and Margaret. There are also delicate images of each of a Tudor rose, a daffodil, a thistle and a shamrock to represent the home nations. The edges of the handkerchief have a boarder of roses and leaves all around it. 
 
George V1 was king of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, 11 December 1937 - 1910 until his death on 6thFebruary 1952. He was concurrently the Emperor of India until the British Raj was dissolved. 
 
King George V1 became King, and his wife Elizabeth became Queen following his brothers King Edward V111 abdication due to the British Government, public and the Church of England condemning his decision to marry the American divorcée Wallis Warfield Simpson.
