Occasion Dress
This dress is very special when I first started Rock Follies Vintage back in 2009 my Mother asked her friends if they had any vintage dresses they wanted to part with. So this beautiful dress arrived all wrapped up in tissue and in a vintage box from a very dear friend of hers called Liz. The dress actually bought tears to my eyes when I saw how beautiful it was. Liz had been a professional singer and had spent her life wearing the most stunning clothes many of which I have sold over the years. I took the dress to my first Vintage Fayre at the custard factory in Birmingham, and put her proudly on Doris my Mannequin then this lovely young girl asked if she could try it on, she looked beautiful in it and of course she bought it. Well this lovely girl is now getting married this year and asked if I would like to buy it back as she can no longer fit in to it not something I usually do but this one had to come back to me. So here she is for sale again, Liz who is now in her 90s has been told of how her dress is still wowing people I wonder where the next part of the story will go…..

Fabric: All over Eau De Nil / pale green coloured lace with a slight crispness to it backed onto a soft silky acetate lining fabric linen petticoat
 
Style: A classic 1950s fit and flare 
 
Features: A beautiful fitted panelled dress with a waisted fit and flare style. There is a panel across the waistline made of three pieces at the front and one darted piece at the back they go up to the bust creating a V shape up to the cleavage and sides, the bust is softly gathered into the V with a gentle cross over neck line up to the shoulders. The bodice panels are also finished in the same V shape from the waistline to the hip line where the six shaped skirt panels are expertly attached giving the most beautiful fit and flare shape the skirt also has the original linen petticoat sewn into the dress to give a beautiful soft fullness to the hem line. 
 
Closure: metal zip to the side 
 
Ideal to wear for: parties or events red carpet proms it’s an eye turner
