Fabric: A light weight very soft 100 % Cotton Lawn print featuring a light and darker beige with medium sized flowers in apple green, duck egg blue, teal with cream and black highlights.
 
Style: A classic 1940s pattern has been used to make this shirt waister dress. The bodice has a cross over revere collar neckline which is kept in place down the centre front with two small press studs, it is softly gathered on to the skirt with an elastic casing and has a fitted three-quarter sleeve, with a deep hem so it can be turned back to make a cuff. There are belt loops for a 1 “ (2.5 cm) belt, however no belt is included.
 
Features: The dress is a classic day dress 1940s style and it has two pockets in the side seam.
 
Closure: pull on over the head with two press studs on the front bodice.
 
Ideal to wear for: events this dress can be dressed up or worn more casually. In the forties wrist length lace gloves and a straw hat could have been worn with this summer dress. The accessories shown in the photographs are not included however they and others are for sale in our accessories collection.
