Original Vintage: 
Embroidered Silk Satin Case
Dating from early 19th Century  C1920s 
 
The case has been made from silk black satin lined in black cotton sateen, piped with a black cord. Both the front and back panels have been hand embroidered with a beautiful basket of flowers and ribbon. It is open at the bottom edge and so it may have been a cover to slip over something precious.
