Original Vintage: Large Black Leather Frame Handbag with Brass Fittings

Riviera was founded by ‘Solly’ Reichenberg, who came to England during the second World War. He once owned a company in France so that is the history behind the name of his new company. Riviera Bags were one of the top three British Manufacturers of Handbags. The quality just shines through on all their pieces.
This handbag belonged to a Lady called Mabel I had many of her beautiful clothes and handbags she was a beautiful lady who lived into her 90s and I was lucky enough to be asked to visit her beautiful cottage in Worcestershire and bought many of her clothes and handbags.

Made of: Black smooth quality leather outer with brass fittings, lined in light beige leather with one pocket on one side and a metal zipped pocket, compact and lipstick pockets on the other.
Style: Large frame roomy power handbag
Features: The metal frame is covered in black leather and sits inside the two flat and gusseted panels. There is a brass curved edge to the top of each panel back and front and the leather handles are set into them with articulated fitting
Closure: Brass clip at centre (with patina to its finish)
Vintage Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition: Signs of wear and age to all sides and corners, and the inside which give this bag its beautiful character, however it is extremely sturdy and will survive for another seventy years!
