Pygmalion was a name owned by a British company S. D. Rand Ltd. Which was based in London. The name was registered for cosmetic boxes by Salo David Rand in 1942, Adverts featuring Pygmalion cease in the mid 1950s making it a very short-lived company
Made of Engine turned brass
Style: A collectable novelty hinged powder compact
Features: An intricated engine turned design with a spring-loaded thumb side catch, inside there is a little mirror with a little bit of foxing to the edges. The powder pan in lined in cream with Bakelite and signed with the words “Pygmalion” No1960 Made in England Patent Pending
Back Design: Flat plate to sit on
Vintage Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition: a little bit of wera on flat base and foxing to edges of mirror.
