Label: Sambo this label was established by Samuel Sherman in the late 1940's in the 50's Sambo became known for this type of floral Shirt Waister dress, and for using quality Marchington Cottons.

Fabric: A quality white cotton print with shades of blue petals 
 
Style:  A classic 1950's fit and flare 
 
Features: The bodice is fabric faced at the front with a fitted double-breasted line with 6 covered buttons. The collar is a classic 50's feature shawl collar, a most flattering line as it opens up the neckline and minimises the shoulders, the collar which you can wear flat or indeed fold it up over the shoulder as styled in one of the above images, is trimmed with a delightful small bow. The skirts are attached onto the bodice with an array of shaped seams giving a full skirt at the hem line and a flat waist. The original stiffened interlining is still attached with some damage to it one could always cut it out and wear a full petticoat that we sell separately. The waistline is then finished with a narrow self covered buckle belt with all the origianl casings. Set off with a flattering three quarter set in sleve which does have a deep hem so could be worn as a little cuff.
 
Closure: Buttons press stud and hook to the front with a 11 " metal zip to the back.
