Original Vintage: Grey Taffeta Dress & Jacket Suit
 
Dating from: 1940s
 
Label no label hand made the lady who owned this his from had many clothes hand made to a high standard I believe she was petite in height at it is appears a bit short for a 1940s suit, there is however a hem of 2"(5 cm) if it required lengthening.

width at hem 44 " (111.5cm) plus a small 5” (2.5cm) kick pleat

Length back neck to hem to hem 23” (58.4 cm)
sleeve length 22 ½ " (57 cm)

Fabric: Textured mid grey Taffeta with a squiggle design in light grey
 
Style: Cleverly cut fitted dress and jacket.
 
Features: The dress has a scalloped design across the back and front which continues to become the scalloped sleeve. A ‘V’ neck. The dress has panels and darts for fit, and a little kick pleat at the centre back. The neckline and sleeves have been lined with grey lining fabric. The jacket has eight shaped panels and has been lined with a cream and grey brocade fabric, has a two-piece fitted sleeve with a pointed slashed cuff. The neckline follows the dress with a high ‘V’ shape that curves gently round down the centre front. There are faux pockets flaps on the hips and there is a faux lacing on the back and the front in a navy cord, with 48 eyelets sewn beautifully by hand.
 
Closure: small metal zip opening to the side and small popper placket to the back neck 
 
Ideal to wear for: Vintage events, where is could be teamed with vintage accessories as seen in the photos also for smart work or an occasion.
