Length from waist to hem 28" (66 cm) plus a deep turned up hem of 4” (10cm)
Width of skirt at hem at 84” (212cm)

Fabric: is medium weight crisp cotton mix, the background is a muted orange with abstract pattern of brown leaves with dashes of turquoise.
 
Style: A classic 1940s waisted dress summer dress with a caped sleeve and pointed collar detail back and front.
 
Features: The bodice is made of three panels the front has a waist panel to sit snugly on the waist the front bodice is attached to that with a small pleat to give shape to the bust line, with a cap sleeve coming off the bodice. The V neckline back and front have a deep collar with points and a tie at the front. The skirt is attached to the waist with full gathers.
There are belt loops for a 1 ½ “ (3.7 cm) the original belt is no longer with the dress.
 
Closure: 12" (30 cm) metal zip at the side.
 
Ideal to wear for: events this dress can be dressed up or worn more casually. In the forties wrist length lace gloves and a straw hat could have been worn with this summer dress
